Managing Your Subscription

You can manage billing from Settings -> Billing.

Upgrading Your Plan#

To upgrade to a paid plan or move to a higher tier:

  1. Go to Settings -> Billing.
  2. Select the plan you want.
  3. Complete checkout in Stripe.
  4. Return to Diaform after checkout.

Paid features unlock after the subscription is active.

Understanding Your Billing Model#

Your Billing page shows whether your organization is billed by AI messages or by legacy conversation credits.

  • AI message billing: One successful assistant response consumes one AI message.
  • Legacy conversation billing: One started interview consumes one conversation credit.

Most new organizations use AI message billing.

Buying Additional AI Messages#

Organizations can buy top-up credits from Settings -> Billing when they are on the Standard plan or above.

Each top-up adds 1,500 AI messages for $89. Top-up credits do not expire on renewal and are only used after included plan messages run out.

Top-ups are not available for legacy conversation-billed organizations.

Switching Billing Periods#

You can manage billing period changes from the Stripe billing portal:

  1. Click Manage subscription in Settings -> Billing.
  2. Open the Stripe billing portal.
  3. Select your preferred billing period.
  4. Confirm the change.

Annual billing changes payment timing only. Included usage credits will renew monthly.

Updating Payment Method#

To update your card or payment method:

  1. Go to Settings -> Billing.
  2. Click Manage subscription.
  3. Update payment details.
  4. Save the changes.

Viewing Invoices#

Invoices are available in the billing portal. Use Manage subscription from Settings -> Billing to access billing history and download invoices.

Cancelling Your Subscription#

To cancel:

  1. Go to Settings -> Billing.
  2. Click Manage subscription.
  3. Cancel the subscription.
  4. Confirm the cancellation.

Cancelling does not delete your data. When the subscription ends, the organization moves back to the default free state and projects are unpublished. Public interview links stop collecting new responses until you resubscribe and republish.

After Cancellation#

  • Existing projects, responses, and settings remain in your account
  • Paid limits and paid-only features are removed when the subscription ends
  • Projects are unpublished
  • You can resubscribe later from Settings -> Billing
