Creating a Project
Projects are the foundation of Diaform. Each project represents a separate AI interviewer configured for a specific use case, product, or research topic. Once created, you can customize the AI's behavior, add questions, integrate with your tools, and share the interview link with respondents.
How to Create a Project#
Navigate to Your Dashboard
Log in to your Diaform account and go to your organization's dashboard. You'll see a list of your existing projects (if any).
Click 'Create New Project'
Find the "Create New Project" button at the top of the page and click it. This will open the project creation form.
Enter Your Project Name
Give your AI interviewer a name. This name will be displayed in the interview header and helps you identify the project in your dashboard.
For example:
- "Customer Satisfaction Survey"
- "Product Discovery - Mobile App"
- "Churn Exit Interview"
Create the Project
Click "Create" to generate your new project. Diaform will automatically set up the project with default settings.
Configure Your Project
After creation, you'll be taken to the project edit pages where you can customize everything before going live.
What Gets Created#
When you create a new project, Diaform automatically sets up:
- Default General Settings: A basic configuration with standard language, colors, and start message
- Empty Questions List: No questions are pre-configured—you'll add these yourself
- Unpublished State: The project starts unpublished, so the interview link won't be accessible until you toggle it live
- Five Edit Tabs: Access to General, Knowledge Base, Questions, Actions, and Integrations settings
Project Limits by Plan#
Each Diaform plan includes a specific number of projects you can create:
| Plan | Project Limit |
|---|---|
| Trial / Starter | 2 projects |
| Pro | 5 projects |
| Business | 10 projects |
If you've reached your project limit and need to create a new one, you can either delete an existing project or upgrade your plan to unlock more project slots.
Next Steps#
After creating your project, you'll want to:
- Configure General Settings: Customize the AI's name, language, colors, and start message
- Add Questions: Define what you want to learn from respondents
- Publish the Project: Toggle the published state to make the interview link accessible
- Share the Link: Send the interview link to your target audience
